If you remember, I have planted tomatoes for the first time in my life. Yesterday, I picked my first ripe tomato! Now, I am not a huge tomato fan but there is something about eating from your own backyard. I sliced the tomato, threw half an avocado on top, and enjoyed every yummy morsel. I can't wait for the others to ripen. This garden thing is awesome. Stay tuned for the lone jalapeno that should be ripe soon.

Words of Wisdom from my long run

Happy Memorial Day!
The 'rents came for Memorial Day weekend. Every spring they come to help me get my little "yard" ready for summer. This year we added a lovely garden. I am now the proud owner of 2 tomato plants! I am sooooo excited. Unfortunately, my history is not very promising with any sort of plants. So, I am going to give it a go. I am also going to add my usual herbs: rosemary, basil, and cilantro. My chives and mint are still living, so that is encouraging. Plus, there are several plants that came back. What surprises!!!! Wish me luck!
